ŻYTO - A Polish Rye Ale (4.5%) - only on draught at Lovebird. Alex’s family is from Łódź, Poland, which was actually David Lynch’s favourite town. It’s pronounced “Woodge” I guess. We went in 2017 to find the home where Alex’s family lived before the war. We found it and it’s a weird place. In a good way. It felt kismet, being an odd little factory town in the middle of Eastern Europe that happened to be the favourite town of one of the greatest creatives of our time. Anyways, we try to offer something Polish from time to time. Not necessarily traditional, but Al’s take on what being Polish means to him. This rye ale uses Polish hops for this oddly refreshing warmth that blends perfectly into this spring’s slow start. It’s so good.
